The Reds will look to the inspiration of their star player against what are expected to be complicated Italian rivals.
Liverpool will be looking for their second consecutive victory in the Europa League when they take on Udinese in what promises to be an entertaining match at Anfield.

The Reds come into the clash in confident mood after having hit five goals past Norwich City in their latest Premier League fixture at Carrow Road on the weekend.

Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez was the star of the show, as for the second season running he converted a superb hat-trick against the club.

Suarez is also expected to play a key role for Liverpool on Thursday, because Brendan Rodgers' side confront a Udinese side who are extremely solid as a defensive unit.

In fact, the Italians have only conceded two goals in their last four games in all competitions.

But if Suarez puts on a similar display as to the one against Norwich, Liverpool should be able to break through the Udinese back-line, as they search for three points that would cement them top spot of Group A.

Rogers will be unable to count with the services of both Martin Kelly and Lucas Leiva, who are both injured. While another injury means Jose Enrique is in serious doubt of missing the game as well.

According to reports Joe Cole could make a return to the Liverpool squad for the Europa League clash. He appears to have reached full fitness, after suffering a hamstring injury at the beginning of the season.

Perhaps some good news for Liverpool is that the Italians are likely to rest Antonio Di Natale for the clash. The striker is by far Udinese's most dangerous player, due to his impressive goal ratio.

Only once have Udinese beaten English opposition, that win coming against Tottenham in the 2008-09 Uefa Cup.

Due to this statistic, and their impressive form, Liverpool can be considered the slight favourites coming into this fixture.
