Reigning UCL champs Chelsea will look to consolidate their grip on second spot in their group as they travel to face struggling Swedish side Malmo.

Preview: Malmo vs Chelsea

Just a couple of weeks after cruising to an easy 4-0 win over Malmo at Stamford Bridge, reigning Champions League holders Chelsea will travel to Sweden to face the Scandinavian outfit on their home turf. Thomas Tuchel's men will naturally look to do a double over the struggling side as they'll have to take on Juventus in what will likely be a battle for top spot in Group H.

Chelsea come into this match having eased to a very comfortable 3-0 road win over Newcastle United over the weekend, which ensured that the Blues remain on top of the table. With Liverpool stumbling in a surprise two-all draw to Brighton, Chelsea have now been able to extend their lead to three points over the chasing pack. Since losing 1-0 to Juventus on matchday two of the Champions League back on September 29th, Tuchel's squad have gone six games unbeaten across all comps and so will be really fancying their chances to make it a seventh on the spin on Tuesday evening.

Despite seeing both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner subbed off due to injury, Chelsea had no problems scoring against Malmo, with defender Andreas Christensen grabbing a rare goal to open proceedings, followed by Jorginho again showing his reliability from 12 yards out. Kai Havertz, whose goal won the Champions League for Chelsea last season, added a third shortly after the second half started, before Jorginho completed a brace with another coolly taken penalty.

As for Malmo, they come into this contest having battled to a 3-2 road win over Sirius in the Allsvenskan over the weekend. The hosts have lost just one of their last five games across all comps, but that was the recent 4-0 drubbing they received at the hands of Chelsea in London about a fortnight ago, and they're still seeking to pick up their first points (and possibly a goal) in Group H. But having conceded a whopping 11 goals so far, things really don't bode well for Malmo ahead of matchday four this Tuesday.

Team news: Malmo vs Chelsea

Malmo: Both Ola Toivonen and Jonas Knudsen remain out for Malmo due to knee injuries.

Chelsea: Chelsea will have to make do without both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, but if how they eased to wins over Newcastle and Malmo is any indication, the Blues should be able to again manage just fine in their absence. Additional absentees for the visitors include American star Christian Pulisic, who has really struggled with fitness all term, as well as Croatian international Mateo Kovacic, who recently sustained a hamstring injury that will keep him out until after the latest international break.
