The Bavarian titans suffered a shocking loss in the DFB-Pokal to end their dreams of a domestic double this season.

It's safe to say that everyone is used to seeing Bayern beat - and more often than not - humiliate their opponents.

Whether it's crushing struggling Bochum 7-0, or handing Barcelona an embarrassing 3-0 loss at the Camp Nou, or more recently, pummeling Leverkusen 5-1 in a match many had hoped to see as a more closely contested affair, die Roten are truly ruthless when it comes to obliterating the opposition.

So, with that in mind, it's quite rare when Bayern are on the opposite end of the same kind of treatment they've traditionally handed out to their opponents.

Well, earlier today, Bayern took on Borussia Moenchengladbach in the DFB-Pokal, in a match that many figured would be pretty much smooth sailing for Julian Naglesmann's side. By the time the final whistle blew, the score read as 5-0.

Except it wasn't Bayern who had cruised to yet another easy win. The victors on the night were none other than Gladbach!

While this is indeed a shocking result, Gladbach did hold Bayern to a one-all draw on matchday one of the current Bundesliga season, and have recently caused their fair share of troubled for the Bavarian titans in recent times.

The result certainly has Gladbach fans celebrating, while Bayern supporters surely are reeling in shock. For the first time in 84 games, die Roten failed to find the back of the net. The last time this happened was way back in February 2020, when RB Lepizig successfully held them to a scoreless draw.

It's also the second straight season in which Bayern have been knocked out of the DFB-Pokal; last year, they were shockingly eliminated by 2.Bundesliga side Holstein Kiel on spot-kicks.

Next up for Bayern will be an away clash with Union Berlin, and it's safe to say they'll be looking to take out their frustrations on their hosts this Saturday.
