R.Madrid with historic El Clásico victory

Real Madrid make history by winning fourth straight El Clásico

October 24, 2021 By Oscar Rojas
The Spanish capital side bagged three more points with a 2-1 score at Camp Nou and added one more milestone to their resume against their bitter rivals.

It was no ordinary day for Real Madrid at Camp Nou, as Los Merengues claimed a crucial win to keep themselves in the race to top the table and place Ronald Koeman's job in jeopardy while at it.

The clash between the Spanish titans ended with a 2-1 score in Real Madrid's favor, even if Barcelona controlled the ball for most of the second half. Los Culés enjoyed quite a few chances in front of goal in the defining 45 minutes, but a good performance by Thibaut Courtois and their lack accuracy in front of goal saw the game reach stoppage time with the game one-nil in Los Blancos' favor.

Just when the home team seemed to get closer to scoring the equalizer, Lucas Vázquez scored the defining goal and eventually canceled a late late effort by Kun Agüero, who scored his first goal for Los Blaugranas moments later.

That goal by Vázquez proved to be key to help Los Blancos extend their unbeaten run against Barcelona to five games. To make matters worse for today's hosts, four of those have ended in wins for Real Madrid, which represents a record in the 21st Century for the Spanish capital giants. The last time in which Real Madrid managed to win as many games in a row took place in 1965, when they put together a seven-game streak without a loss against Los Culés. Now, the all-white side is two games away from equaling that run.
