O Tricolor will be hoping to fire on all cylinders in order to edge closer towards Brasileiro league leaders Atletico Mineiro.
Fluminense will be aiming to close-in on the Brasileiro front-runners when they battle with lowly Palmeiras at the Engenhao stadium on Sunday.

After 15 rounds of the Brasileiro, Fluminense sit in third-place with 32 points, three points behind league leaders Atletico Mineiro, with 35, who take on second-placed Vasco da Gama in Belo Horizonte.

Flu, who recently sold striker Rafael Moura to Internacional, are one of the main title contenders this season, and will be disappointed with anything less than the three points against Palmeiras.

Palmeiras may have won the Copa do Brasil earlier in the season, but the Sao Paulo-based club have struggled enormously in the Brasileiro and currently languish in the relegation zone.

Due to this, they will be desperate to return home with at least a point from their visit to Rio de Janeiro.

Abel Braga, the coach of Fluminense, believes Sunday's rivals have plenty of potential, and for that reason cannot be taken lightly by his side.

"Palmeiras won't be there [in the relegation zone] at the end of the Brasileiro. The team are high-quality. They played very well against Botafogo," he said.

In Sunday's top-of-the-table league clash, Ronaldinho's Atletico Mineiro take on Vasco da Gama. Only one point separates the sides from the top of the table, meaning that while Atletico will be hoping to conserve league leadership, the visitors will seek to overtake them.

Another match of great interest is the one between Sao Paulo and Gremio at the Morumbi stadium. Sao Paulo, who were beaten 2-1 by Fluminense midweek, will be looking to escalate against fourth-placed Gremio.
