the Red Devils are set to welcome back one of their key men from last season's campaign when they travel to the King Power Stadium on Sunday.

Manchester United have received a much-welcomed boost ahead of their Premier League outing this weekend. The Red Devils' academy graduate Marcus Rashford was pictured in training as the team prepared for Sunday's crucial encounter with Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

The 23-year-old attacker, who helped the Red Devils to the Europa League final last season and was also involved for England at Euro 2020, is yet to make an appearance in club football this season. The striker underwent shoulder surgery back in August after going through the 2020/2021 season with a lingering injury.

Rashford, has in recent weeks, stepped up his recovery journey inside United's Carrington training base. After starting with a series of light sessions, the Englishman recently joined in the contact training sessions and even scored a brace after featuring in a behind-closed-doors friendly between United and Blackburn Rovers, which saw the Reds won by three goals to nil.

"My recovery is - I wouldn't say coming to an end because obviously I have to keep looking after it - but I'm in a much better place physically and mentally." he told BBC Breakfast.

"Last year was a very long season for me, I got this injury at the end of September and gradually it got that little bit worse, but now I'm fully free of that, I feel much better physically and mentally."

Rashford is expected to be in contention for the trip to the King Power Stadium as Manchester United target their first Premier League win in three games. Needless to say, they will hope that the available personnel will put in a good shift with center-back pair Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane set to miss out through injury. The former picked up a knock in the 1-1 draw with Everton prior to the international break while the latter hobbled off in France's 2-1 win over Spain in the Nation's Cup final in mid-week.

For Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Rashford's return should give him a lot to think about taking into account the kind of games in the pipeline for Manchester United. The young English forward joins his already stacked attacking roster that has the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani, Mason Greenwood, Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard and Amad Diallo.
