France striker Karim Benzema continued his red hot form by getting on the scoresheet as France secured their first-ever UEFA Nations League title at the expense of Spain on Sunday night. The Real Madrid skipper hit an audacious curler to pull his Les Bleus back into the game barely 60 seconds after conceding the game's opening goal before Kylian Mbappe subsequently scored the decider.

Following a comparatively slow start in the first half, the clash between the two European heavyweight had life breathed after the half-time break. It was Spain who drew first blood through Mikel Oyarzarbal. The Real Sociedad skipper finished off a brilliant counter-attacking move just a brief moment after Theo Hernandes had hit the woodwork on the opposite end for France. 

A few seconds after France had restarted the game, another breakaway opportunity presented itself for the reigning world champions to fully capitalise on. This time, Karim Benzema decided to go alone and ended up burying a sensational curling effort into the top-right corner of the Spain goal.
