Chelsea remain unbeaten this summer despite the absence of Spanish international Juan Mata. The midfielder, who scored the last goal in the UEFA Euro 2012 final against Italy, is expected to play a starring role at the Olympic Men’s Football tournament. Mata cleared the air over his decision to represent Spain this summer despite Chelsea’s agenda. He told Goal.com:
“Chelsea have never put any pressure on me to decide between the Euros and the Games. They knew I wanted to be at the two tournaments and they accepted without any problems.”
Juan Mata quickly became a fan favourite following his transfer from Valencia to Stamford Bridge. The Spaniard helped Chelsea win the 2012 FA Cup and UEFA Champions League titles.
