The Portuguese icon was visibly upset as he stormed down the tunnel on Saturday, catching the attention of the masses along the way.

The fallout from Man United's disappointing slip-up at home to Everton continues, with one club legend shifting focus from the manager's tactics in the 1-1 draw to the reaction of Cristiano Ronaldo after the final whistle.

The Red Devils hosted the Toffees in Saturday's early kick-off, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer making a surprise decision by benching the five-time Ballon d'Or despite his excellent form. The Portuguese ace scored five goals in his first five appearances, including a stoppage-time winner over Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League, but was left on the bench for the clash with Rafa Benetiz's side.

Unfortunately, this move did not pay off. Despite working themselves into good positions on numerous occasions, Man United entered half-time with a mere one-goal lead. Ronaldo was brought on shortly before the hour mark but could not affect the game. Eight minutes later, Everton found the equalizer, with Andros Townsend scoring after a brilliant counter-attack.

The Red Devils threw everything at their opposition in search of the winner but were forced to share the points, leaving them with only two wins from their last six games across all competitions. While the focus was on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer due to the club's dip in form as of late, Ronaldo's reaction at full-time also caught attention.

Speaking after the game, club icon and pundit Gary Neville touched on this issue, criticizing the former Real Madrid star for his behavior. The 36-year-old was visibly upset and could be seen shaking his head while storming immediately down the tunnel.

The former Old Trafford full-back argued that Cristiano's reaction will only heap more pressure on Ole, adding that matters like this should be kept away from the camera and should be dealt with behind the scenes. Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville said:

"I watched him walk off and I can't say I like it.

"Is Cristiano upset when he doesn't play? Yes. Is Cristiano upset when he doesn't score? Yes. Is Cristiano annoyed as hell when the team don't win? Of course.

"We know those things. He doesn't have to prove that.

"He walked off the pitch muttering to himself, which throws the questions up in the air - what's he saying? Who is he annoyed with?

"It can only come back to the manager. Actions like that - and Cristiano is smart enough to know this - will bring real pressure on the manager, more pressure than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is already under.

"I think that is something that just has to be managed in the next couple of months. Cristiano is not always going to score, he's maybe not going to play every single game.

"But I think if he walks off like that, it's going to put immense pressure on Solskjaer. There's no doubt the talk after the game was about the manager.

"He has this collection of players but they haven't got this style of play, they haven't got this or that. He didn't pick Ronaldo..."

While Neville admitted that this is to be expected from a player in search of non-stop excellent, the Man Utd icon advised Solskjaer to deal with this situation sooner rather than later.

"I think he has to look after himself, Ole, be selfish and make sure he manages Cristiano is such a way - and he will do, he's managed Paul Pogba for the last couple of years pretty well.

"I think he will have a word with Cristiano and say, 'look, come on, if you're going to do that, let's do in in the changing room'."

Unfortunately for Man United, things might not pick up soon. The Premier League giants are set for a tricky run of fixtures upon returning from the international break, with Cristiano and Co. set to face Leicester, Tottenham, Liverpool, Man City, and Atalanta (twice) between mid-October and early November.
