The Foxes could be gearing up to make a daring bid for the Sassuolo star, according to reports in England.

Back in 2014, a young striker named Domenico Berardi scored not one, not two, but four goals as Sassuolo handed AC Milan a shocking 4-3 defeat. In doing so, the then-19 year old became the second youngest player to score four goals in one match and the first to do so against the Rossoneri.

Since then, Berardi has steadily grown into one of Sassuolo's most influential players, eventually gaining a call-up to the Italian senior national team where he was part of the Azzurri team who won EURO 2020. Many big clubs have been tracking him for a while, including fellow Serie A sides AC Milan and Lazio, as well as Juventus at one point, and this summer, Italian reports had linked him with Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, West Ham, and Leicester City.

In fact, the Foxes did ultimately attempt to make a bid, only to see Sassuolo reject it outright as the Neroverdi are desperate to hang on to a player who's scored over 100 goals for the club.

As per reports coming out of England, Leicester haven't given up on him, and are reportedly prepared to make a bid worth £30 million this January. Meanwhile, some sources have mentioned that Berardi himself tried to push for a move away from Sassuolo, only to be blocked as the Neroverdi have high hopes of trying to secure European football for themselves next season.

Will Leicester succeed this time around in bringing in the Italian international? We'll just have to wait and see what happens in a few months' time.
