The end of the International break in CONCACAF is set to keep fans on the edge of their seats. Here's your guide to watch the region's qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup.

Things are heating up in the Final Round of the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers, where some of the favorites have not been able to live up to the hype created around them and have already placed their spot in the quadrennial tournament at risk.

All eight teams will enter their final match of the international break with high hopes and with much to do. While most fans may choose to follow the paths of the Mexican team or the USMNT, teams such as Jamaica and even El Salvador may hold some surprises in store for the upcoming games, which means that keeping track of all the games would be a wise move.

Before we go deeper into the games, let's have a look at how the standings look like after matchday 2.

Now, have a look at this Wednesday's fixtures.

Canada vs El Salvador

The Canucks have earned two draws thanks to Cyle Larin's goals, and playing at home against El Salvador should be used by them to collect three points in the tournament before they have to travel to hostile territories. As for El Salvador, the team coached by Hugo Pérez is still looking for their first goal in the tournament, but their defensive prowess gives them hope ahead of this game. Both coaches will have a full squad to choose from, but Canadian players such as Steven Vitoria, Richie Laryea, and Mark-Anthony Kaye are one yellow card away from earning a one-match ban. On the other hand, El Salvador players such as Eriq Zavaleta, Roberto Domínguez, Enrico Hernández, and Marvin Monterroza will also have to be wary not to be carded.

Costa Rica vs Jamaica

Los Ticos and the Reggae Boyz have struggled a bit to earn points in the start of the qualifiers, and fate wanted them to face each other in the last round of games in September. Los Ticos have not even been able to score a goal after drawing against Panama (0-0) and losing to Mexico (0-1). Meanwhile, Jamaica lost both of their games, the first of them against El Tri (1-2) and the other one at home against Panama (0-3). So, the need for points may give us an interesting match. Costa Rica's boss Luis Fernando Suárez will have everyone of his players available for this game, but Jefferson Brenes, Jonathan Moya, David Guzmán, Francisco Calvo, and Ricardo Blanco are one booking away from getting a one-match ban. As for the Reggae Boyz, Theodore Whitmore will aim to see more cohesion among his stellar footballers, but Shamar Nicholson and Cory Burke will have to keep the intensity to a minimum if they don't want to be banned for October's first game.

Panama vs Mexico

Los Canaleros host El Tri with a good record and after claiming an emphatic 3-0 win over Jamaica. Meanwhile, Mexico make it with two wins in a row to Rommel Fernández Stadium, something that had not happened to them since the 2006 FIFA WC Qualifiers. Mexico are still unbeaten against Panama in WC Qualifying matches, and Gerardo Martino's men will want to keep it like that despite Edson Álvarez's absence after being handed a one-match ban. Panama's boss Thomas Christiansen will have a full squad to choose from for this game, which means we could have a real nail-biter on our hands.

Honduras vs USA

The Yanks have not enjoyed the best start of the Qualifiers, with two draws out of their first two games. Added to that, the team has been involved in quite a few problems on and off the pitch, leaving the Stars and Stripes without players such as Zack Steffen, Gio Reyna, and Weston McKennie. The hosts have also drawn their first two games, but contrary to the USMNT, they were expected to lose at least one of their matches prior to this game. Coach Fabian Coito will not have any suspended players for this game, but midfielder Alexander López could end up missing out on this game due to an untimely injury. His availability will be determined hours before the game. Los Catrachos have only won one World Cup Qualifying game against the USMNT recently (in 2013), and ending that streak would increase their chances of making the trip to Qatar next year.
