The end result of the Copa América could have much to do to change how things have gone in the South American Qualifiers, and this game could be a good example of it.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers are back underway all over the world, and the South American tournament will bring us quite an interesting clash when Brazil make it all the way to Santiago to face Chile, with the hosts trying to get their fortunes in the competition back on track after some disappointing results.

Chile will get to this game in seventh place of the World Cup Qualifiers after putting together a record that shows only one win, three draws, and two losses. Chile's only win in the tournament came almost one year ago, when they defeated Perú two-nil. Since then, La Roja lost to Venezuela (1-2) and drew their games against Argentina (1-1) and Bolivia (1-1).

Coach Martín Lasarte has slowly turned things around for the Chilean side, especially during the 2021 Copa América, where he had just taken control of the team and led them to the KO stage. Once there, Brazil kicked them out of the competition with a narrow one-nil score. Even so, the rise of players such as Ben Brereton, Jean Meneses or Diego Valdés will add depth to a team that needs young blood to help their struggling Golden Generation that was unable to make the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

On the other hand, Brazil will get to this game leading the pack in the World Cup Qualifiers with a perfect record of six wins in six games, although their most recent result saw them lose the 2021 Copa América final against Argentina. The Verdeamarela's last three games have ended with the same score (1-0), but that loss to Argentina has shown that Tite's men are everything but invincible.

Speaking of which, coach Tite will have to work wonders to keep Brazil's unbeaten run, since he was not able to call up twelve players. Names such as Alisson, Ederson, Thiago Silva, Richarlison, Roberto Firmino or Gabriel Jesús will not be around due to the restrictions set by the Premier League on players traveling to South American countries. Despite that, players such as Neymar, Hulk, Casemiro, or Gold Medal winner Dani Alves should be enough to lead Tite's men to a positive result.

As previously stated, Brazil claimed a win in their most recent match against Chile (1-0), and while history heavily favors Brazil over La Roja with 51 wins in 73 games, the last time A Canarinha made it to Chile for a World Cup Qualifying match, they ended up losing to Chile 2-0 in 2015. Will the hosts come up with such a performance this Thursday?
