The six-time Ballon d’Or winner was not given a full debut in his first game as a Paris Saint Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain new-boy Lionel Messi was denied the opportunity to have a full debut after being named on the bench in Sunday night's clash with Reims. Meanwhile, want-away star Kylian Mbappe was given the nod to star for his side in what could potentially be his last game for Les Parisians.

The pair was named in the 22-man squad for the clash at Stade Auguste Delaune with PSG looking to keep their unbeaten run in the new campaign going. Despite signing Gianluigi Donnarumma on a free transfer this summer, the Ligue 1 called upon Keylor Navas once more to man affairs in the post. The backline was also without the injured Sergio Ramos who joined the former league champions this summer.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino opted for a midfield three comprising of Veratti, Wijnaldum and Idrissa Gueye while the attacking front featured Neymar Jr, Angel Di Maria and Kylian Mbappe. With the latter said to be angling towards a move to Real Madrid, his inclusion came as a bit of a suprise.

Lionel Messi had to settle for a place on the bench with Pochettino having revealed in his pre-match press conference that the attacker was going to be involved in the game at a point. Here is the full starting line-up of PSG ahead of Sunday night's encounter:
