The third round of matches in the English Premier League is set to serve up some tasty clashes and renew rivalries.

With gameweek 2 of the Premier League season done and dusted, all 20 teams are back in action this weekend. The third round of matches offers another 10 fixtures which will be played in two days, starting with Manchester City's encounter with Arsenal in the early Saturday kick-off. Last week, the defending champions bounced back from a disappointing opening day loss to ship five goals past Norwich City.

On the other hand, the Gunners picked up another loss in the local derby with Chelsea after being put to the sword by newly-promoted Brentford. Both Chelsea and Liverpool kept their 100 percent win record going with respective wins over Arsenal and Burnley, whereas Manchester United extended their unbeaten away record in the premiership to match that which was achieved by the Arsenal 'Invincibles' with the 1-1 draw at Southampton.

League standings ahead of Matchday 3 - Top 5

Top games to watch in the Premier League

Manchester City vs Arsenal: The Citizens will host the Gunners at Etihad Stadium for their third game of the season as they set their sight on successive wins. Having put five unanswered goals past Norwich City in the past week, they should be poised to inflict more pain on their opponents from London. For Mikel Arteta, he would hope that his return to his former employers will yield something positive with rumors of an imminent sack gaining momentum in recent weeks.

Liverpool vs Chelsea: Having won two of the last three Champions League titles, both Liverpool and Chelsea will flex their muslces in a bid to keep their perfect start to the season going. Both sides are yet to concede goals in the competiton and have registered five goals apiece to occupy the second and third positions on the league log.

Wolves vs Manchester United: There is no dull moment when these two sides meet although it is mostly difficult for a winner to emerge. Prior to last season's back to back wins for the Red Devils in the league, they had failed to defeat the Molineux outfit in five outings. Under the leadership of Bruno Lage, they will look to get a revenge for the two defeats from the previous campaign.
