Last season saw Lille shock French football to win their first Ligue 1 title in a decade. Live Soccer TV has all the info you need to tune into your favorite French side, no matter where you're based in the world.

Last season saw Lille win their fourth Ligue 1 title and the first for Les Dogues in a decade. In a race that literally went down to the wire, fans were treated to a real thriller as the Ligue 1 title ended up being decided on the final matchday. Will we see a repeat of this once again?

Here's all you need to know with the 2021/22 Ligue 1 season upon us.

Who will begin the 2021/22 Ligue 1 season as reigning champions?

Unlike in prior seasons where it was usually PSG, this time around, Lille have began the current season as the reigning champions. The thing is - will they be able to retain the title this time around?

Who are the must successful team in Ligue 1 history?

It might surprise those who are not avid followers of Ligue 1, but the most successful team in league history isn't PSG. Or Lille, for that matter. It's actually Saint-Etienne, who've won ten titles to date, albeit Les Verts haven't won the league title since 1981.

When does the 2021/22 Ligue 1 season begin? And when does it end?

The 2021/22 Ligue 1 season started on August 6, 2021 and will end on May 21, 2022.

Which French teams will be taking part in European competitions?

A total of six teams will be featuring in European competitions this season. Ligue 1's reps in the Champions League will be defending champs Lille, plus PSG and Monaco, who finished in second and third respectively. The Europa League will have both Olympique sides - Lyon and Marseille, while Rennes will be representing France in the first ever edition of the Europa Conference League.

Which teams will play in the 2021/22 installment of Ligue 1?

Ligue 1 will eventually be reduced to 18 teams during the 2023/24 season, but for now, 20 teams will still compete in the top flight. Again, two newly promoted sides will feature: they are Clermont, who are in Ligue 1 for the first time in club history, plus Troyes. The 16 other sides are: Angers, Bordeaux, Brest, Lens, Lille, Lorient, Lyon, Marseille, Metz, Monaco, Montpellier, Nantes, Nice, PSG, Reims, Rennes, Saint-Etienne, Strasbourg.
