Ten days after the shocking collapse of Fabrice Muamba, Spurs and Bolton will engage in a rematch of their FA Cup quarter-final tie. The venue for the game is White Hart Lane.

“Fabrice Muamba remains in intensive care at the London chest hospital where his condition is serious but stable. He continues to make encouraging progress in his recovery,” according to a statement from Bolton Wanderers and the hospital.

“Because Fabrice is getting better, that allows us to play the match [against Spurs]. If it was different circumstances, it might be a different conversation,” coach Owen Coyle explained in an encounter with the press on Monday.

“The great thing is that he is getting better. We will do our best [to win], as we always try to do. Will it be emotional? Of course. But I can't say how it is going to be until we are physically there.”

Tottenham Hotspur are mindful of Bolton’s bizarre psychological condition. Spurs know that their opponents will pour their heart out in honour of team mate Fabrice Muamba. However, trying to beat Bolton at all cost doesn’t mean cruelty as Tottenham's Scott Parker explained. The Guardian quoted the player as saying:

“The game before was obviously quite tragic and something that you obviously don't want to see. But with Fabrice's recovery, it has probably helped us a lot and I'm sure it's helped Bolton as well.

“Obviously it was a little bit tricky after what happened but I think the lads are fine now because we hear Fabrice is doing pretty well, which is pleasing.”

Tickets for a date with Chelsea at stake

In the end, Tottenham Hotspur vs Bolton Wanderers will be all about the reward at stake – a semi-final clash against Chelsea – which both teams pretty much want get. Things are looking better now in Spurs’ camp following last weekend’s morale boosting draw at Stamford Bridge. Spurs, who are just coming out from a deep in form in the Premier League, are eying FA Cup success.

“It's a big game for us and confidence is good after Saturday's result [against Chelsea],” Scott Parker declared while looking at Tuesday night’s match against Bolton Wanderers.

“There is a big prize and we would like a trip to Wembley, not just for the semi-final, we'd like to go to the final. So we are looking forward to it.”

Tottenham Hotspur vs Bolton and a few factsThe 2011/12 FA Cup trophy is what all teams want. Spurs and Bolton are chasing a spot in the semi-finals.

Interesting facts remind that Spurs have qualified past Bolton in the FA Cup in four out of six occasions in the past. However, things have changed for both teams. They last clashed in the competition in 2010.

Tottenham Hotspur are the fourth team in England to have played the most number of FA Cup quarter-final matches. Meanwhile, it must be noted that they have recently developed the miserable habit of losing at this stage. During the last four years, the London-based contenders have reached the semis only once.

Bolton Wanderers will be looking to force Spurs to their fourth Last 8 defeat in five years. To achieve this, Coyle’s men will need to destroy a certain curse:

In the previous 16 matches between Tottenham Hotspur and Bolton in all competitions, the away side has never ran away with victory. Just so you know, this FA Cup quarter-final match will be staged at White Hart Lane…

The good news for Harry Redknapp is that influential winger Aaron Lennon might recover from his hamstring injury and feature tonight. Adebayor is most likely to make the starting line-up but the name of his partner is yet to be confirmed.

Redknapp has a choice to make between Louis Saha and Jermaine Defoe. Owen Coyle may respond to Spurs’ attacking forces by playing Ivan Klasnic and Arsenal loanee Miyaichi upfront.

Sunderland vs Everton

The other game on Tuesday night in the FA Cup quarter-finals is Sunderland vs Everton. Everton and Sunderland went down at Goodison Park ten days ago and played out a 1-1 draw. The game’s goals all came in the first half with Cahill’s 24th minute goal cancelling out Bardsley’s 12th minute opener. The winning team tonight will book a date with 2011/12 FA Cup favourites Liverpool.
