After being one of four teams to pick up max points on opening day, PSG will look to make it two wins in two as they aim to start slowly pulling away from the rest of the pack.

Arguably, the biggest news to hit Ligue 1 recently was PSG's acquisition of Lionel Messi. While it still may feel strange to many to see the Argentinian superstar in another club kit other than Barcelona - where he spent over two decades - part of football's attraction is its unpredictable nature. Just as a few years ago, Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Juventus shocked football, the same has now happened with Messi. It's not shocking that Ligue 1 will now have legions of new followers eager to see if Messi can replicate the same form that he's known for in La Liga as PSG seek not to conquer just France, but Europe.

Top games you won't want to miss on matchday two

Lorient vs Monaco: After finishing in third spot last season, Monaco will again hope to be among the teams challenging for the Ligue 1 title. Yet, Les Rouges-et-Blancs didn't impress in their season opener as they were held to a one-all draw with Nantes. Of course, there's plenty of time between now and the end of this campaign, but will they get back on track as they take on Lorient?

PSG vs Strasbourg: The visitors have given Les Parisiens their fair share of trouble in the past, so this won't be a game that PSG will be taking too lightly. However, newly arrived and long-time Ligue 1 fans who're hoping to see Lionel Messi in action will be a bit disappointed, as the six-time Ballon d'Or winner will likely be at the game - albeit in the stands.

Lille vs Nice: The reigning Ligue 1 champions failed to get off the mark as they were held to a three-all draw in their opener, so it's safe to say that Les Dogues will look to rebound and make up some ground on the top placed sides as they take on Nice.

Angers vs Lyon: Lyon were another team who dropped points on opening day and now, having lost key man Memphis Depay to Barcelona, will need to ensure they can get things right against an Angers side who were one of just four teams to earn max points on matchday one.
