Italy wrapped up the tournament by lifting the title at Wembley, with one Azzurri player coming away with an impressive individual accolade.

The Euro 2020 is done and dusted. Yesterday's Italy vs England clash drew the curtains on what has been a fantastic and scintillating tournament, with the Azzurri wrapping up their wonderful campaign by winning the title at the Wembley Stadium.

The four-time World Cup champions did not get off to a great start, conceding inside two minutes, but they found the equalizer shortly after the hour mark and were by far the better team. A nervy penalty shootout ensued as things remained one-all until the 120th minute, with Gianluigi Donnarumma once again showing his class, saving two spot kicks to bring the title to Rome.

The soon-to-be PSG goalkeeper enjoyed another stellar performance in between sticks and was rewarded for his exceptional campaign, being named the recipient of the Euro 2020 Player of the Tournament award. This wasn't the Italian shot-stopper's first penalty shootout heroics, having guided his nation to victory in the semi-final over Spain in similar fashion, stopping Alvaro Morata's decisive attempt to send Mancini's outfit to the final.

This achievement is made all the more special by the fact that only one other goalkeeper in history has claimed this prize. Can you guess who it is? That man was none other than Premier League and Man United icon Peter Schmeichel after leading Denmark to the trophy in Euro 1992.

Harry Kane was in the running for the Golden Boot, having scored three goals, but his failure to find the back of the net means he missed out on the EURO 2020 Alipay Top Scorer prize. That accolade instead went to Cristiano Ronaldo who, despite playing on four games, scored five goals. He narrowly beat Czech Repubclic ace Patrik Schick, who also netted five teams throughout the tournament, thanks to a superior assist tally – the five-time Ballon d'Or winner had one to his name compared to his rival.

The other prize was the Young Player of the Tournament gong and it came as no surprise to see that prize go to Spain sensation Pedri. The Barcelona starlet won rave reviews for his performance at the heart of Spain's midfield, following in the footsteps of the 2016 winner Renato Sanches.
