Hirving Lozano had to leave the game against Trinidad & Tobago after a nasty tackle by a Trinidadian defender and a nasty clash against goalkeeper Marvin Phillp

The CONCACAF Gold Cup kicked off with worrying news for Napoli and Mexico fans, as winger Hirving "Chucky" Lozano had to be subbed off from the game after a nasty tackle inside Trinidad & Tobago's box.

With the game reaching the ten-minute mark, Lozano had entered the Caribbean team's box with high chances of scoring, when defender Alvin Jones tackled him from behind. Usually, Mexico would have been handed a penalty, but referee Ricardo Montero decided not to award a spot kick for El Tri.

The real problem for Gerardo Martino and his team came moments after Alvin Jones' tackle, since Lozano went face first to crash against goalkeeper Marvin Phillip's left knee. The tackle and that hit against Phillip caused Lozano to be carted off the game unconscious and with a massive cut above his left eyebrow.

Shockingly, the only players that were booked after this were Mexican footballers, who complained about Montero's decision not to award a penalty kick.
