The title clash for the Copa América is here, and what better way to end the competition than a game between La Albiceleste and the Verdeamarela?

The 2021 Copa América will come to an end this Saturday when Argentina and Brazil face each other in the game everyone was waiting for. Both of these teams reach the final without a loss, and all bets will be off when these football titans lock horns at the mythical Maracaná Stadium.

Argentina will make the title clash in high spirits, following their penalty shootout win over Colombia. Prior to that, Lionel Scaloni's men claimed an emphatic 3-0 win over Ecuador in the Quarterfinals and claimed the top spot in their group with three victories and one draw (vs Chile in the opening game). The white and blue side has scored eleven goals in the competition, while their defense has only conceded three goals. As you may already know, Lionel Messi is the team's top scorer with five goals.

Brazil have been deemed as the massive favorites to win their 10th title and second in a row after winning the 2019 edition. The team lived up to the expectations by winning their group in stylish fashion with three wins and one draw. Meanwhile, A Canarinha sorted out their Quarter-final tie with a narrow one-nil win over Chile, and their semi-final match saw Tite's men claim a narrow win over Perú. The green and yellow side have scored twelve goals in the competition, while their defense has only conceded twice. In the goalscoring department, Neymar and super sub Lucas Paquetá are the team's top scorers with two goals.

Argentina will make it to this game with only one doubt, as Cristian "Cuti" Romero is set to miss this tie due to a knee problem. The rest of Lionel Scaloni's squad is fit to play, waiting to end their 28-year hoodoo without a title.

As for the Brazilian team, Tite will not be able to field his best squad, as Gabriel Jesús will serve the last game of a two-match ban he picked up against Chile. The rest of the team, inclduding superstar Neymar, Casemiro, Roberto Firmino and Thiago Silva, will be available for this game.

The rivalry between Argentina and Brazil goes back to September 1914, when La Albiceleste claimed a three-nil win against Brazil. Since then, these national teams have played 107 games, with Brazil claiming a slight edge over Argentina with 42 wins and 25 draws. Meanwhile, Argentina have won 40 of their games against the Verdeamarela.

Last, but not least, this will be the fourth Copa América final between these teams and the fifth title clash across all competitions. Brazil's lead over La Albiceleste is commanding. as they have won three of those, with only one going Argentina's way. The most recent Copa América game with the title to play for between these teams took place in 2007, and Brazil took the trophy home with an emphatic 3-0 win.
