AC Milan will have the opportunity to provisionally overtake Serie A league leaders Juventus when they travel to the Stadio Olimpico to do battle with Lazio on Wednesday.
The Rossoneri have been in phenomenal form in recent weeks, and will be hoping to continue with their winning ways against a Lazio outfit who they beat 3-1 at the San Siro stadium in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals last week.

Massimiliano Allegri's side regained their winning mentality immediately after losing the Derby della Madonnina to Inter Milan in mid-January as since then they have won four consecutive games in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and conceding a mere two.

But Milan face a stiff test against a Lazio outfit that will be after sweet revenge at what is expected to be a capacity crowd at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

The Romans come into the clash with high spirits, after having thrashed Chievo 3-0 on Sunday, a result which saw them overtake Inter Milan into fourth-place of the league standings.

But while the Stadio Olimpico can be an intimidating stage for visiting teams, surprisingly Lazio have a lower than average home record, with only four wins out of ten games this term.

Milan could take advantage of this, as they have won six out of ten away games this term, with their last coming in the form of a 3-0 victory over Novara at the Stadio Comunale Silvio Piola stadium on January 18.

The game is expected to be fought out right until the death, as much is at stake for both sides, as while Milan could provisionally climb above Juventus into first place, after Tuesday's clash between the Bianconeri and Parma was suspended due to a snow storm, a Lazio defeat could prove fatal for the title aspirations of the Romans.

Despite being plagued by injuries, the Rossoneri come into the clash as the favourites, particularly because of the amount of flair they contain in their attack, with Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the league's highest goal-scorer, leading the way with an impressive 15 goals.

Due to their unmatched overall depth the Italian champions are expected to prevail against an organised but rather inconsistent Lazio side who will most definitely give it their best shot.
