Top games to watch
The UEFA Champions League returns this midweek, with Premier League giants Arsenal involved in the standout fixture. The Gunners host PSG in their first home game of the campaign as they look to bounce back from their drab 0-0 draw at Atalanta. The Gunners enter this game following their impressive 4-2 win over Leicester on Saturday, with Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz scoring in stoppage time to help Arteta's men return to winning ways.
The Ligue 1 giants, on the flip side, overcame Girona on Matchday 1 thanks to a late own goal and will want to send a message to their biggest rivals by winning at the Emirates Stadium. Furthermore, Luis Enrique's men beat Rennes 3-1 over the weekend and will not be short on confidence either.
Will Barcelona bounce back from their defeat at Osasuna? This is the question on everyone's mind following their 4-2 loss over the weekend, with Hansi Flick later apologizing to the fans as the Blaugrana dropped points in La Liga for the first time this season.
The Spanish giants rotated heavily and paid the price, with Flick stressing that it was necessary to rest his key players. However, the Catalan heavyweights lost 2-1 to Monaco in their UEFA Champions League opener following Eric Garcia's sending-off and will likely have to go full force on Tuesday. Will Barcelona bounce back? Do not miss this tie.
Reigning champions Real Madrid return to action in Europe only a few days after their fiery Madrid Derby. Los Blancos enter this game fresh off their trip to Atletico, with Ancelotti's men dropping two points after conceding a stoppage-time equalizer to draw 1-1 at the Metropolitano Stadium.
Real Madrid kicked off their UEFA Champions League defense with a 3-1 win over Stuttgart despite struggling in the first half. Lille, on the other hand, lost 2-0 away to Sporting CP but are unbeaten since, playing twice and winning their most recent game over the weekend. Les Dogues have the home advantage but overcoming the 15-time champions might be a hill too steep.
And finally, we have Bayern Munich's trip to Aston Villa as Unai Emery aims to guide the Villans to what would be a historic victory in their first UEFA Champions League game at Villa Park in 41 years.
Interestingly, both teams enter this clash on the back of draws. However, Aston Villa were held by a newly promoted side, drawing 2-2 at Ipswich Town, while Bayern Munich earned a point at home to reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen. Additionally, the two teams earned victories on Matchday 1 of the UEFA Champions League, with the German powerhouses thrashing Dynamo Zagreb 9-2 while Villa overcame Young Boys 3-0.
