Top games to watch

Reims vs PSG

Reigning champions PSG resume their title defense this Saturday after shifting focus to the UEFA Champions League during the midweek. The French giants overcame Girona thanks to a late own goal in their recent European tie but will want to deliver another impressive performance in Ligue 1. Luis Enrique's men have been unstoppable so far, winning four out of four and being the only team in the French top flight with a perfect record.

Reims, on the other hand, are unbeaten in their last three fixtures after losing their opening game of the season against Lille. Additionally, the hosts can take confidence from when they last met PSG earlier this year, holding the continental powerhouses to a 2-2 draw.

Monaco vs Le Havre

Monaco enter this round third in the table but only behind second-placed Marseille on goal difference. This means Sunday's game presents Les Rouge et Blanc with two opportunities: to leapfrog Marseille in the table and to put some distance between themselves are closest rivals Lens. With Marseille traveling to Lyon and Lens facing Rennes, Adi Hütter's side will be hoping for positive results in both this game and elsewhere.

The hosts are yet to lose a domestic game this season, drawing with Lens just before the September international break while winning every other tie. Le Havre, meanwhile, have won twice and lost twice. As a result, the visitors enter this tie in ninth place but will give it their all to win at the Stade Louis II.

Lyon vs Marseille

Two French powerhouses lock horns on Matchday 5, with Marseille visiting the Parc Olympique Lyonnais in a highly-anticipated affair. Lyon boast the home advantage but unlike their rivals, Pierre Sage's side have been abysmal so far this season. Les Gones have won only once in four matches in 2024-25, and while that sole victory came in their most recent home match, Lyon overcame fellow mid-table side Strasbourg.

Marseille, meanwhile, are second in the table and sit behind only leaders PSG. Les Phoceens have won all but one of their first four games, with that sole slip-up being a 2-2 draw with Reims. The visitors beat Nice in their most recent game and will now be aiming to brush aside another struggling French heavyweight.
