The Mexican league will live a very special weekend, as Independence Day celebrations are set to take place on Sunday, which has pushed all games to be played between Friday and Saturday. While there will be some good matches to follow on Friday, the real treat will come on Saturday with three top matches, including the always interesting Clásico between América and Chivas.

The weekend will determine some interesting facts, with all eyes set on Cruz Azul and Tigres who continue to battle their way to the top and with Toluca and Tijuana getting ready to leapfrog them if any setbacks take place for the top two.

Here are the most relevant games to keep an eye on.

Top games to watch

Toluca vs Tijuana - The third-ranked team in the league welcomes the fourth of the competition, in what should be a great match to follow. Los Diablos made quite an investment with some major signings, and fans will be eager to see them click for the team against a dangerous rival. Toluca have won their two most recent games at home against Tijuana, but los Xolos have found a way to beat them at their own turf in the past...even winning a title years ago. All in all, it will be a fun game to watch, which is why you should see where you can do so on Saturday.

América vs Guadalajara - This has to be the biggest chance for Chivas to damage América's reputation in recent years. Guadalajara get to this game in better shape than América, although none of their wins have taken place against teams from the lower half of the table. On the other hand, América are desperate to leave their current spot, and a game such as the Clásico should give them enough boost if they can find a way to win it. Will this be the day for Guadalajara, or will América show their worth as back-to-back champions and start their rise back to the top? Saturday's game should give us a good idea on both options.

León vs Cruz Azul - The current league leaders get to this game on a high following their win against América, and now they will face a team that used to give them many problems in past years, but that right now have undergone a slump. Cruz Azul get to the Nou Camp unbeaten in five games against León, with four of those ending in wins for La Máquina. To make things worse for the home team, their new coach Eduardo Berizzo must find a way to lead them to their first win in the competition, following the worst possible start with four draws and two losses. Will this clash between two very different teams end in a surprise? Only time will tell.
