Brasileirao games to watch this week

One more week of action is heading our way in the Brazilian Serie A, with the battle for the top spots getting tougher every week.

Botafogo have clinged to the No. 1 spot with their win last week, and even though Fortaleza are still one point behind them, O Galo is now five points away from the third place of the competition (Palmeiras), making this a two-horse race for the title.

Botafogo will have to be wary of their chances this week when they visit, Bahía, mainly because Fortaleza seem to have an easier match when they host Corinthians. Speaking of the third-ranked team, Palmeiras vs Cuiabá will also be a fixture to keep track of, as the Verdao will have to focus on the domestic tournament following their exit from the Copa Libertadores.

Another clash that is worthy of keeping an eye on is Flamengo vs RB Bragantino. The Rubro-Negro are also five points away from the league leaders, which makes this game against the Toro Loko a must-win if they want to keep their title hopes alive.

The battle to escape relegation will also add a big chapter this weekend. Aside from Corinthians' game, Atlético Mineiro vs Fluminense could be crucial for the away side, still facing the drop despite improving in recent weeks. To make it even more interesting, Mineiro are one of the top teams in the league, which will not make things any easier for Mano Menezes' side.

Added to the regular ten-game schedule, there will be two matches on Wednesday: Criciuma vs RB Bragantino and Cruzeiro vs Internacional, who will start to play the games they have in hand from the earlier months of the season.

Without further ado, here is the full list of Brazilian Serie A matches being held this week.
