Last season's winner Erling Haaland and this season's EA SPORTS Player of the Season Phil Foden have both been shortlisted but will face stiff competition from the other four nominees.

The PFA Players' Player of the Year nominees have been announced, and to no one's surprise, Premier League champions Manchester City dominate the six-man shortlist with three nominations.

Guardiola's side are the only team to receive more than one slot on this list, with Phil Foden, the 2023-24 EA SPORTS Player of the Season, making the cut after an outstanding campaign.

The Englishman scored 17 goals and registered an additional eight assists to help the team win a historic fourth consecutive league crown. However, he is merely one of three Manchester City players to get nominated and will face stiff competition for this gong.

Rodri, who was shockingly snubbed from the EA SPORTS Player of the Season shortlist, was one of the most influential midfielders in world football last season and could be in the running for the 2024 Ballon d'Or. The Spaniard was also named the Euro 2024 Player of the Tournament after helping La Roja win the European Championship.

Erling Haaland is Manchester City's final representative after winning the Golden Boot for the second year running. He is one of two strikers to make the six-man shortlist, with Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins being the other.

The Three Lions forward scored a whopping 19 goals and registered an additional 13 assists to help Aston Villa qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time since 1982-83. The 28-year-old also finished the Premier League campaign with the joint-second most goal contributions — 32, tied with Haaland.

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard and Chelsea wonderkid Cole Palmer complete the list, with both London-based players enjoying fantastic individual seasons.

The Norwegian midfielder racked up 10 assists and scored eight times to help the Gunners push for the title until the final day. Meanwhile, Palmer delivered 22 goals and 11 assists in his debut season at Chelsea and as a Premier League starter.

No player contributed to more goals in the English top-flight last season than the Manchester City academy graduate (33), and with Cole being nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Season prize, the attacker could win both awards at once.

The nominees were chosen by the PFA members, with this year's winner set to be revealed on August 20. Erling Haaland currently holds the honor after winning last season's prize and could become only the fourth player to win back-to-back PFA Players' Player of the Season awards in the 21st century.
