In what has turned out to be the UEFA Euro edition with the most own goals scored, the game between Croatia and Spain will forever grace the highlight reels whenever anyone speaks of the most embarrassing own goal thanks to Pedri and Unai Simón.

La Roja, who made the most out of an own goal by Martin Dubravka in their previous clash, saw how Pedri and the Athletic Club goalkeeper combined for one of the most baffling own goals in history, as Pedri passed the ball back to Simón in what seemed to be a harmless move. Nevertheless, Simón's poor ball-handling skills came to light and ended with him searching for the ball lying in the back of the net.
