NWSL midweek action will see six teams take pitches across the United States on Tuesday, June 22, and Wednesday, June 23.

NWSL play resumes Tuesday when OL Reign host the Chicago Red Stars at Cheeney Stadium in Tacoma, Washington, followed by two more games on Wednesday.

OL Reign vs. Chicago Red Stars on Tuesday, June 22, at 10 p.m. ET

Ninth-place OL Reign is in dire need of three points, making Tuesday’s home fixture against the Chicago Red Stars a must-win game. The Reign accumulated five points after one win, one draw and three defeats in the opening five games of their 2021 campaign. Not a hot start by any means, but there is still light at the end of the tunnel, given that the season is still young and that European reinforcements are gradually making their way into the team.

French goalkeeper Sarah Bouhaddi, German attacking midfielder Dzsenifer Marozsan and PSG defender Alana Cook from the USA made their NWSL debuts last weekend against the North Carolina Courage. Also, legendary French forward Eugenie Le Sommer could make her debut on Tuesday. These players, along with current OL Reign stars in Jess Fishlock and Rose Lavelle, can make the difference and push the team to a playoff position in no time.

On the other hand, the Chicago Red Stars arrive at Cheeney Stadium with eight points from six games. The Red Stars have shown signs of improvement after a terrible start to their 2021 season, losing 5-0 against the Portland Thorns. Nonetheless, Chicago has turned its season on its head and is 2-1-2 after the thrashing suffered on opening day.

NWSL fans from around the world, including the USA, can tune into Twitch to catch all the action.

Kansas City vs. Orlando Pride on Wednesday, June 23, at 2 p.m. ET

League-leaders Orlando Pride will travel to Kansas to face Kansas City NWSL at Legends Field on Wednesday.

The Pride, led by top goalscorer Alex Morgan, is coming off a close one-all draw against Gotham FC last weekend. Left-back Courtney Petersen scored a screamer from a tight angle to stun Gotham in the 90th minute. As the season goes on, it seems like the Orlando Pride always finds a way to salvage points. Head coach Mark Skinner will hope to continue his best run as coach of the Orlando Pride against KC on Wednesday.

Kansas City is still looking for its first regular-season win after two draws and four losses. With two points, KC WoSo finds itself at the bottom of the NWSL table. The expansion team will look to end a four-game losing streak and avenge a 1-0 loss against the Pride in May with a win.

The game will be available in the USA online via Paramount+ and internationally on Twitch.

Racing Louisville vs. NC Courage on Wednesday, June 23, at 7:30 p.m. ET

Racing Louisville and the North Carolina Courage will meet at Lynn Family Stadium on Wednesday after wins in their previous games.

New-girl Ebony Salmon starred in Racing Louisville’s 1-0 win against the Houston Dash last weekend. The 20-year-old scored a wondergoal just one minute into her debut for the club. Salmon arrived at Louisville just weeks ago with hopes of helping the struggling team and becoming an important piece in Christy Holly’s squad. The game against the Courage can be another opportunity for the Englishwoman to shine, as she hopes to be summoned to team Great Britain.

On the flipside, NC Courage will look to inflict as much pain as they did the last time these two teams met in May. That time out, the Courage won 5-0 at WakeMed Soccer Park in North Carolina.

The game will be available online in the USA on Paramount+ and internationally on Twitch.
