After battling to a 4-2 win over Portugal, Germany now will look to take care of business against Hungary, who sit last in their quartet.

Preview: Germany vs Hungary

An interesting fact: Wednesday's game in Munich will be the first meeting between Germany and Hungary in 110 years. While die Mannschaft have faced the Eastern European nation before, games staged in Munich have been few and far in between. In fact, Germany's only clash with Hungary in Munich was a friendly back in December 1911. Fans may be surprised to know that it wasn't the Germans who came out on top, as Hungary managed a 4-1 win on the day.

Obviously, a lot has happened since then, and Germany have yet to lose to Hungary since Joachim Low took over. And it's safe to say that they'll be loath to allow that to happen as they seek to secure a spot in the round of 16. So far, it's been two wins from two, while scoring five and conceding none. Certainly, Germany, who come into this match having beaten Portugal 4-2 in a six goal thriller, will not be taking Hungary lightly, despite their opponents sitting bottom of their quartet.

When this grouping was announced, everyone expected it to be a battle between Portugal, France, and Germany for the top two spots - and that's how it's played out so far. However, Hungary are desperate to be part of that conversation and have something to say, as evidenced with how they hung on for a 1-1 draw with world champions France.

Given that they do have a point, they're not out of the running just yet, but will need to pull off what would be a shock upset to sneak into the round of 16. However, Germany, despite their 4-2 win over Portugal, were shockingly poor during their loss to France. Fans will hope to see the same team that battled to all three points against reigning Euro champs Portugal as Germany now have been given a major boost in their quest to qualify for the knockout rounds.

Team news: Germany vs Hungary

Germany: Veteran duo Thomas Muller and Mats Hummels are both struggling with knee injuries and could likely be replaced by Leroy Sane and Niklas Sule respectively if they don't recover; even if they do, Low could opt to rest both players with one eye on the round of 16.

Hungary: Their upcoming task has gotten even more difficult as Marco Rossi's side look set to be without the services of striker Adam Szalai, who suffered a head injury against France and may not recover in time. In addition, the visitors will be missing Daniel Gazdag, who left the squad after an injury.
