Germany, France and Portugal make up a daunting Group F and will look to battle for knockout places in the upcoming European championship.

The Euro 2020 has finally arrived and there is a lot of action to look forward to across the various match centres. We do not have to wait long for a number of cracking games in the group stage and the hype surrounding Group F will truly unfold in the coming days.

Dubbed as the 'Group of Death', it will host two sides who have collectively won the World Cup five times, the current defending champions of the tournament and a two-time runners up at the mundial. It is without doubt the most difficult group in this edition of the competition and predicting the outcome is as complicated as it can get.

Which teams are involved in Group F?

France: Not many opponents have the same quality and depth in each position as France do and they will once again enter another major competition as the undisputed favorite. Prior to becoming the world champions in 2018, Les Bleus missed out on winning the Euro 2016 on home soil after falling to Portugal in the final. With that at the back of their minds, Didier Deschamps' men will be out to prove a point, especially taking into account the opponents they will compete against. Maybe with Karim Benzema finally returning to compliment the class provided by the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Paul Pogba, Antoine Griezmann, and Ousmane Dembele, they will be able to secure their first European championship trophy in over two decades.

Portugal: Current European championship title holders Portugal rank as one of the three legitimate contenders to finish at the business end of the Group of Death. Five years after tasting continental glory at the expense of France inside Stade de France, Fernando Santos' men still have their mojo and will be eager to battle things out with the other heavyweights. Like most of the opponents they will face, the Seleção are loaded with several top talents with a fine blend of veterans in the mix. Having Cristiano Ronaldo leading the brigade with the likes of Pepe, Jose Fonte, Bruno Fernandes, Bernado Silva, Ruben Dias, Joao Felix and Diogo Jota, the Iberian nation should be able to put on a good fight to realise their aspirations.

Germany: Four-time World Cup winners Germany will be out to change their fortunes after falling from prominence in recent years. Die Mannschaft have been largely disappointing at major tournaments and are still looking to find their feet while enduring the transitional phase with a younger generation. Owing to the recall of Thomas Muller, Matts Hummels and other veterans, the Euro 2008 finalists will attempt to give outgoing head coach Joachim Lowe a befitting sending off at the end of the tournament. With the talents of Manuel Neuer, Toni Kroos, Ilkay Gundogan, Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry, Kai Havertz, and Joshua Kimmich all available too, the objective to progress out of Group F may well be a possibility.

Hungary: Hungary - a two-time runner-up at the FIFA World Cup - are heavy underdogs in Group F of the upcoming European championship. The Magyars are not fancied to make something out of their participation in this year's finals despite a number of good players in their ranks. Head coach Marco Rossi has a massive job on his hand and will look to upset the odds when his side comes up against France, Germany and Portugal. With star man Dominik Szoboszlai ruled out of the tournament because of injury issues, their chances are further hampered.

Which cities will host Group F?

Group F of UEFA Euro 2020 will take place from 15 to 23 June 2021 in Budapest's Puskás Aréna and Munich's Allianz Arena.

Group F predicitions

While the task will not be easy, France should do enough to emerge as winners of Group F. While it is not clear what version of Germany will show up at the upcoming finals, we will lean towards to have the No.2 spot on lockdown.
