The 34-year-old striker hit the target twice in Tuesday night's 3-0 win over Bulgaria.

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is closing in on Thierry Henry's record as the all-time top-goalscorer of the France national men's football team after contributing to Tuesday's win over Bulgaria. The 34-year-old attacker came off the bench to score a brace as Les Bleus comfortably defeated their opponents in their final warm-up game ahead of Euro 2020.

Didier Deschamps' charges started the night on a good note and opened the scoring after 29 minutes through Antoine Griezmann's overhead-kick goal. Ten minutes later, the hosts were left worried after an injury forced Karim Benzema's substitution inside the 41st minute. His replacement was none other than Olivier Giroud who had lost his place in the starting line-up following the Real Madrid striker's return from six-year international exile.

Against Wales, Giroud found the back of the net from the bench after Benzema had missed a penalty early on and, once again, he backed up his claim for the No.9 spot with two goals in the win over Bulgaria. The Chelsea man's first goal came in the 83rd minute where he had to simply redirect Benjamin Pavard's cross past the Bulgarian goalkeeper. Right on the 90th minute mark, he was set-up for a simple tap-in by Wissam Ben-Yedder to take his side's advantage to three.

With his 45th and 46th international goals, Olivier Giroud went within five goals of equalling Thierry Henry's all-time haul for the French national team. The Arsenal legend scored 51 goals in 123 appearances for Les Bleus.
