How to watch the Spain vs Portugal friendly in over 130 countries

June 3, 2021 By Oscar Rojas
Two teams that have been labeled as favorites to win the UEFA Euro lock horns in a friendly clash. Don't miss this interesting warmup game.

With the UEFA Euro just around the corner, all qualified teams want to get to the competition in the best possible shape, and that is exactly why this game between Spain and Portugal will be quite entertaining to watch.

The Spanish National Team will enter this match with a little bit of controversy surrounding them, this being mainly due to Luis Enrique's decision to not call up any Real Madrid players that seemed to have earned the right to be in the squad. Players such as Dani Carvajal and Sergio Ramos were left out of the squad due to their constant physical problems, while others such as Nacho were snubbed by the coach. Instead, the former Roma boss called up Aymeric Laporte to his first international games with Spain, Pablo Sarabia, and Pedri.

On the other hand, Portugal will rely on almost the same players that gave them the 2016 UEFA Euro title five years ago, led of course by Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe, Rui Patricio, and Joao Felix. The most relevant addition to the Portuguese squad is that of Pedro Goncalves, who led Sporting to their first Primeira Liga title in 19 years while also becoming the Portuguese top-flight's top scorer.

La Roja will get to this game on a six-game streak without a loss, which includes a 6-0 win over Germany in November 2020. Their last match to this date took place on March 31, and Luis Enrique's men claimed all the points with a 3-1 win over Kosovo in a match that was held in Sevilla.

As for Portugal, the team led by CR7 will enter this clash on a four-game streak without a loss. The only defeat for Fernando Santos' men came against France on November 14, 2020. Their last match up to this date saw them claim a 3-1 win over Luxembourg.

Spain and Portugal share a history of quite a few games against each other. This will be the 38th match between these teams, with the overall record giving Spain a commanding lead of 16 wins. On the other hand, Portugal have only beaten La Roja six times, the last one of those in 2010, when A Selecao claimed a 4-0 victory over Spain. The most recent match between these teams ended in a goalless draw in October 2020.
