The Parisian boss is reportedly ready to leave the club after being in charge for less than a season.

Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino has informed club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Sporting Director Leonardo that he wants to quit, according to Libération. The Argentine boss, who joined the club mid-way into the season, has asked his current employers for permission to terminate his contract a year earlier than it is due to expire.

Reports of Pochettino possibly quitting PSG has dominated headlines in recent weeks after he failed in the bid to lead the club to glory in Ligue 1 as well as the Champions League. The 49-year-old suceeded Thomas Tuchel at the beginning of the year after the latter's underwhelming spell in the first round of the just ended league season. However, his appointment did not yield the desire results with Les Parisians missing out on winning consecutive league titles for the first time in four years. They also fell short in their bid for back-to-back Champions League final appearances after being stunned by Manchester City in the penultimate round.

Tottenham Hotspur are in search of a new manager after parting ways with Jose Mourinho before the end of the season and Pochettino's name has been thrown in the mix once more. The five-year spell with the North London club in 2019 but reports suggest that he is keen on returning for the second time. On Tuesday, French publication Liberation reported that the reunion could be soon as the Argentine has already made his desire to leave Paris known to his club's heirarchy.

It is rumored that Zinedina Zidane could be appointed in his stead after he also parted ways with Real Madrid a few days ago. The Frenchman has since been replaced by his former boss and ex-Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti.
