His future has been the subject of a lot of speculation, but now PSG's current coach has confirmed that this season is his last with the French giants.

For months, many had speculated as to whether the partnership between Lionel Messi and PSG would continue for another season.

Today, we now officially know the answer. As per PSG's current coach, Christophe Galtier, the World Cup winner will not be a PSG player next season.

Messi, who has won more Ballon d'Or titles than any other player in history, and is widely regarded by most pundits as the greatest player of all time, has been linked several clubs. One, of course, would be a sentimental one, with many fans hoping to see the Argentinian superstar return to Barcelona where he won numerous titles and personal accolades.

Another is the Saudi Pro League, who have shown they have no issues with splashing the cash as they also have reportedly made a big-money approach for Real Madrid ace Karim Benzema.

MLS outfit Inter Miami have made no secret of wanting Messi on their books, but it remains to be seen if they can compete with the money on offer from the Saudi Pro League.

As such, Messi's last match will be on June 3rd, as PSG take on Clermont. Les Parisiens have already clinched the league title, making this game a dead rubber. It will be interesting to see how fans receive Messi, who has been on the receiving end of some harsh criticism as of late, but what will be of greater interest is to see where his next destination will be.
