Luton Town were part of the Conference League nine years ago, and the options of reaching the English top-flight seemed possible only in a video game. Today, the oldest team from the South side of England has accomplished a massive feat by getting themselves promoted to the Premier League.
The Hatters had to overcome a series of difficulties throughout the match, which included having their captain being subbed off during the first moments of the game, and a second-half equalizer by Gustavo Hamer. In the end, a missed penalty by Fankaty Dabo ended Luton's suffering and sparked all celebrations for their fans at Wembley.
Here's the moment where Luton Town sealed their spot in the Premier League "thanks" to Dabo's PK miss (Image might be geo-restricted).

With their rise through the EFL football system, Luton Town have become the second team in history to go five tiers up since the 1950s. To make things even more nostalgic, the Hatters will now be able to play in the Premier League for the first time ever despite voting to have the league created in 1992, the year where they were relegated to what we know today as the EFL Championship division.
