The next summer could see one of Argentina's most praised players changing teams, as goalkeeper Dibu Martínez could leave Aston Villa following recent reports of a move to another Premier League club.
The 30-year-old goalkeeper has caught the eye of some of the top EPL clubs, which may see Aston Villa parting ways with the footballer after a year in which he has kept 13 clean sheets in 33 games across all comps. Furthermore, the club would be willing to break a transfer record for the player who led La Albiceleste to the World Cup title back in December along with Lionel Messi.
Dibu has been reportedly linked to a move to Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham, according to TyC Sport. Martínez will wait until the end of the season to make up his mind about where he could be playing next, although it is safe to say that Spurs and Manchester United would have a better option to sign him since they will be playing European football next season.
The Argentine is still under contract with Aston Villa until the end of the 2026-27 season, and with no buyout clause in his deal, the club who want to hire the shot-stopper will need to do so by negotiating with the Villains.
With Hugo Lloris and David De Gea having their futures questioned with their respective teams, it seems proper to see Martínez catching the eye of those clubs. Nevertheless, the ball will be on Aston Villa's corner due to the kind of contract they agreed to, and if they don't want to negotiate, all the clubs that have shown interest in Martínez will have to look elsewhere to boost their options under the sticks.
