The German boss was one of the frontrunners to take the coaching gig at Stamford Bridge, but he decided to withdraw from the race on Friday evening.

Chelsea's search for a permanent manager continues, and it seems that some of those they had eyed for the gig are not ready to take over due to their doubts on the project's sustainability.

Earlier this week, reports coming in from England revealed that Spanish boss Luis Enrique had been ruled out of the race to coach the Blues due to his lack of Premier League experience. To make matters worse, one of the favorites for the job turned down the offer to join the EPL outfit. The man is none other than Julian Nagelsmann.

The German tactician broke his silence regarding what turned out to be a shocking exit from Bayern München, and while at it, he also shared to German media outlet Sport1 he needed a team with a "project on solid ground," something he did not see at Chelsea.

Adding to those reports, Sky Sport Germany revealed that the 35-year-old coach had made up his mind on Thursday despite being one of the top candidates for the job, and he decided to share his decision with Chelsea's execs on Friday.

As things stand, Mauricio Pochettino is seen as the primary option to take the coaching gig. Nevertheless, other sources state that Celtic coach Ante Postecoglou and Burnley boss Vincent Kompany may also be in the race to become Chelsea's coach next season.
