Two Serie A giants have had their vacant managerial seats filled ahead of this summer's transfer window.

Lazio manager Simeone Inzaghi has reportedly signed a contract to replace Antonio Conte as the new Inter Milan manager with Napoli also securing the service of former Nerrazzuri boss Luciano Spalletti. Both appointments are pending official announcements although the pair are believed to have agreed personal terms within their own rights.

On Wednesday, a bombshell was dropped with regards to Conte's imminent departure from the San Siro outfit after securing them their first league title in over a decade. A statement released by the club to effect stated that the Italian manager's spell was truncated by 'mutual consent' although many reports suggest that it was as a result of an apparent fall-out with the club's owners.

In his stead, Simeone Inzaghi has now been selected as the ideal candidate to carry on with the foundation laid by Conte. The 45-year-old's Lazio side finished the just ended Serie A season in sixth position, just 10 points adrift of a Champions League place. According to transfer news guru Fabrizio Romano, the Italian manager has signed a contract that will end in June 2023 and will take 8M euros less than what was Antonio Conte was receiving in wages.

Over in Naples, Napoli have also successfully filled their vacant managerial seat with the appointment of former Roma and Inter manager Luciano Spalletti. The 62-year-old who has been absent from the dugout for the past two seasons will be taking over from Genaro Gattuso. The latter got the boot out after failing to guide the Partonepei to next season's Champions League. On final league day in Serie A, his side was held to a disappointing 1-1 draw with Hellas Verona and the result benefited Juventus, leading to their demotion to fifth place.

As per Fabrizio Romano's report, Spalletti's contract with Napoli will also end in the summer of 2023. The details of his contract are yet to be disclosed but he will be in charge when the Partenopei take on Arsenal and Lyon in two friendlies scheduled for July this year.
