Fans of the London club are calling for the Blues' boss to be shown the exit door following Saturday night's defeat.

Chelsea fans are instensifying calls for Graham Potter to be sacked following Saturday night's result at home to Aston Villa. The Blues added to their struggles this season by suffering a dissappointing 2-0 defeat against the Villans at Stamford Bridge, a result that has relegated the club into the bottom half of the Premier League table.

The international break provided Chelsea some time to regroup and re-strategize for the remainder of the season but it was far from a convincing performance when the Blues took to the field for the clash with Villa. It was not for the lack of trying as the hosts' had 27 shots, with eight on target, and 69 per cent of the possession. However, they failed to score and ended up losing 2-0, with goals from Ollie Watkins and John McGinn sealing the three points for the visitors.

Following the conclusion of the game, Chelsea manager Graham Potter took responsibility for the result. He said: "After a defeat there is always a disappointment.

"There is always a feeling we have not moved forward, that's fair to say. We have to analyse the performance and look at the things we've done well and what we can do better.

"Defensively we've left ourselves too open but again if you look at the stats of the game we had chances ourselves, we had one-v-ones, but the most important thing, putting the ball into the net, we were second-best.

"I don't like to blame anybody, I have to take responsibility. We are a team, we have to stay together, we are together. We win or lose together.

"We will recover and we will prepare for the next game. We need to respond, that's clear. But we look forward to it."

Nevertheless, Chelsea fans on social media have been actively advocating for Potter's sack as they remain unconvinced about his performance despite having spent more than £550m since Todd Boehly took over last summer. Under the English coach, Chelsea have managed a 31.82 win percentage, as they have picked up victories in seven of 22 games. He ranks the lowest among the last five Chelsea manager's in terms of the number of wins at Stamford Bridge.

The dream of securing Champions League football looks bleak for Chelsea at the moment and fans are advocating for Potter's dismissal as soon as possible. Former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann, who remains an option for Tottenham Hotspur, is rumored to be the priority target for the Blues should they decide to partways with their manager in the coming weeks.
