The Premier League made its return following the dreaded international break, with none other than Manchester City vs Liverpool kicking off Matchweek 29 in the English top flight.
While Jurgen Klopp's men have been struggling all season, the Reds were expected to give the Cityzens a stern test in what is a heated top-four battle and the title race.
However, the exact opposite occurred. Despite conceding first courtesy of a Mohamed Salah goal, Guardiola's men demolished the Merseyside giants at the Etihad Stadium, with Jack Grealish, in particular, tearing Liverpool apart.
Julian Alvarez equalized just before the half-an-hour mark after being assisted by Grealish. Less than a minute after the second half began, the hosts went ahead, with Kevin de Bruyne getting on the scoresheet this time.
Ilkan Gundogan joined in on the fun in the 53rd minute but the moment of the game came in the 74th minute as Grealish capped off a brilliant display with an exquisite team goal. After a lengthy spell in possession, Ilkay Gundogan pulled off a brilliant switch of play to the aforementioned Englishman, who combined exceptionally with De Bruyne before slotting the ball past Alisson. Check out the goal in the clips below (videos are geo-restricted).

The score line remained this way until the final whistle, with Man City slashing Arsenal's lead at the top of the table to five points. The Gunners will take to the field a while later and will need to secure a victory in their home clash with Leeds.
Liverpool, meanwhile, remain in sixth but could drop to seventh depending on who wins the Brighton vs Brentford showdown. The Reds are seven points behind fourth-placed Tottenham and have only one game in hand to decrease that disadvantage.
