Die Roten have secured the services of the 23-year-old defender on a free transfer from Championship side Reading.

Bayern Munich recently celebrated winning an unprecedented ninth straight Bundesliga title, but die Roten will have to make do next season without several defensive options. David Alaba, Jerome Boateng, and Javi Martinez have all moved on to other pastures and that means that the Bavarian titans naturally are set to fill in the gaps with some fresh new talent.

Bayern are no stranger to poaching this talent from rival teams, as they've done for years. One new defender fans will see when the Bundesliga kicks off in August is none other than Dayot Upamecano, who was signed from RB Leipzig and will feature in the center of defense.

But die Roten aren't only keen on securing players from fellow Bundesliga teams, and certainly will look outside Germany for great options. They've now added young English international Omar Richards to their squad. Richards may not be a household name just yet, but clearly his performances for Championship side Reading have done enough to garner the attention of Bayern's executive board.

Richards, 23, a primarily left-sided defender and who was signed on a free, will join Bayern on a four-year deal lasting until 2025.
