Nagelsmann out, Tuchel in at Bayern

Report: Bayern set to SACK Nagelsmann with Tuchel ready to step in

March 23, 2023 By Oscar Rojas
The young tactician was not able to keep up with the pressures of managing Die Roten, and their latest loss may be behind the decision.

What started out as a rumor has been confirmed by different sources. Julian Nagelsmann has seen his time at Bayern München come to an end following a series of complications, and the man that will take his place as Die Roten's boss will be none other than Thomas Tuchel.

Earlier today, a report by Fabrizio Romano got the rumor mill going, with the transfer specialist stating that Nagelsmann was set to be fired by the German giants. The decision was apparently discussed swiftly, as Romano himself confirmed the news via Twitter later.

The information was later confirmed by other sources close to the club, including Bild Sport and Sky Sport Germany.

To go even deeper, Fabrizio Romano confirmed later on that Thomas Tuchel was set to replace Nagelsmann with immediate effect. Details of the contract are yet to be revealed, but with a move being confirmed so quickly, it only means that Bayern's hierarchy had been thinking about it for a while now.

The news may take some by surprise, but Nagelsmann's reputation within the club had been seriously deteriorated for his shaky performances in the Bundesliga this season, which led to the team losing the top spot in the league this past weekend. Furthermore, his complicated relationship with some of the team's heavyweights and his accusations of a reported "insider" may be behind this quick decision by the German champions.

Nagelsmann joined Bayern in 2021, leading the Bavarians to 60 wins, ten losses, and 14 draws. This season, the 35-year-old coach had managed to win all UEFA Champions League matches with the German giants, including their Round of 16 tie against PSG.

Now, it is yet to be seen how Bayern handle the pressure of sacking their coach with a UEFA Champions League meeting against Pep Guardiola in coming weeks. Moreover, it will be even more interesting to see how the Bavarian side prepares for the rest of the Bundesliga season, and how Tuchel will handle all pending issues left behind by Nagelsmann's exit.
