Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made history as the oldest player to ever score in Serie A. At 41 years and 166 days old, the Swedish striker found a half-time equalizer for AC Milan by scoring from the penalty spot against Udinese in his first start of the season.
The match, which saw Milan take on Udinese, began with the latter team scoring the game's opener in the ninth minute through Roberto Pereyra. Just before half-time, Milan received a penalty decision in their favor, presenting them with an opportunity to level the score.
Ibrahimovic subsequently stepped up to take the penalty kick but saw it saved by Marco Silvestri's fingertips. However, he was given a second chance to take the penalty due to Beto's encroachment, and he took full advantage of it by smashing the ball into the roof of the net, thereby making history.

The former Manchester United, Barcelona and Juventus player was already the oldest ever outfield player in Serie A and was also wearing the captain's armband for the first time at the Dacia Arena. With the goal, he broke Alessandro 'Billy' Costacurta's record of being the oldest ever Serie A player to score at the age of 41 years and 25 days. Interestingly, Costacurta set the record in the same manner, representing Milan against Udinese and scoring a penalty in a 3-2 home defeat at San Siro on May 19, 2007.
