Despite initial reports, 'El Fideo' could put pen to paper to a contract extension with the bianconeri, contrary to some of his current teammates.

Angel Di María has been one of the few shining lights in Juventus' complicated season, and even if the initial thoughts regarding his exit hinted that the footballer would not extend his contract with the bianconeri, the player's recent revelations and Juventus' stance on his contract could see him extending his commitment to the most-winning Italian club in Serie A history.

According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the bianconeri are still interested in offering the 2022 FIFA World Cup champion an extension to his current deal, which would work like a charm for the footballer. As per a different article, Di María would be keen on dismissing offers from Major League Soccer clubs and Rosario Central to keep playing in Europe and with the 2024 Copa América on his mind.

Furthermore, talks between the club and the player have been picked up, and despite initial roadblocks, both parties could still commit to a two-year deal if things go as planned by Juve exec, Gianluca Pessotto.

"We hope we can get him to stick around. It would be important to see him doing well this season. It will also be key for us to win something big, it might help his decision, but let's hope Di María can stay with us for next season," Pessotto stated.

The report by the Italian newspaper also stated that the 35-year-old player would not mind staying put with the Serie A giants, even if they do not make it back to European competitions.

As things stand, Juventus are still at risk of being relegated to Serie B due to an open investigation regarding alleged false income reports, but the ball is on Di María's corner, and it seems he is willing to play along with Juventus if things keep on going the way they are right now.
