The English talent wrote his name in history after netting an outstanding goal in the Cityzens' tricky showdown with the Magpies.

Matchweek 26 in the Premier League kicked off with Manchester City's highly-anticipated trip to Newcastle as the defending champions entered this tie knowing they couldn't afford another slip-up in the title race.

With Arsenal sitting five points ahead at the top and hosting relegation-battling Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium, anything but a victory over the Magpies could have seen the Cityzens fall further behind the Gunners.

Fortunately for Guardiola's men, they have a talented player by the name of Phil Foden who produced one moment of magic to break the deadlock for the hosts. While City were comfortably dominating possession from kick-off, the Manchester giants hadn't really tested Eddie Howe's defense until Foden decided to take matters into his own hands.

The highly-rated Englishman, known for his exceptional technique and close control, went on a brilliant run, tip-toeing past a number of Newcastle players to get into the box and score past Nick Pope. While a deflection from Sven Botman played its part, Foden garnered well-deserved praise from fans on social media thanks to his lovely dribble. And that's not all. Not only did Phil earn plaudits from everyone watching the match, but the Three Lions sensation also made history with that opener. At the age of 22 years and 280 days, Foden became the youngest player in Manchester City history to reach 50 Premier League goal involvements (33 goals and 17 assists).

Having overtaken Gabriel Jesus (22 years and 290 days) to snatch this record, Phil will now set his eyes on another target: reestablishing himself as a consistent starter in Guardiola's lineup. While undeniably talented, the player has struggled for minutes this season due to injury and a dip in form. However, he is slowly rediscovering the form that made him one of the hottest young players in world football.
