Whoever thought Napoli would part ways easily with some of their best players has made a big mistake, and that will also go for teams such as Manchester United and even Real Madrid.
Napoli president Aurelio Di Laurentiis smashed the possibility of watching Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia away from the club next summer, as the Italian side is ready to go to war with any team that wants to hire these footballers.
Speaking to TNT Sports, the Italian exec admitted that ludicrous offers could be considered, but the initial idea would be to keep these players around for a very long time.
"Kvara and Osimhen? It won't be difficult to keep our best players around, we're good with contracts. You can't rule things out if you get a crazy offer for them, but I think both of them will stay with us for many years," De Laurentiis stated.
The Georgian ace and Osimhen have been key to Napoli's impressive season in the UEFA Champions League and in Serie A, combining themselves for 28 goals across all comps while also handing out 12 assists between them. Those numbers have sparked the interest of teams such as Manchester United, Chelsea, and even Real Madrid, but the prospect of watching them leave the club is far-fetched at this point.
Another Napoli player who has a shadow of a doubt over his future is Mexican winger Hirving Lozano, who has also been named as an option for Premier League teams. The Italian exec was less emphatic when it came to Lozano's future with the club, but he also showed his desire to keep him around for many years.
"He is an extraordinary player with great pace, and he can be very useful to score and set up goals. I like Lozano very much, and he plays frequently. Lozano is a top player and he just recently changed agents, so we have to get to meet with them and speak about his future. He's a great player and I hope we can get him to stay," De Laurentiis added.
Napoli are the best team in the 2022-23 Serie A season and they also seem to be en route to reaching the next round in the UEFA Champions League, following their 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday.
