Having now moved to the table's summit, Manchester City will look to extend their lead as they take on Nottingham Forest on Saturday, February 18th.

Things are really starting to get exciting in the 2022/23 Premier League title race. On Wednesday, reigning champions Manchester City took on title aspirants Arsenal, and at the end of 90 minutes, one set of fans were celebrating. In addition, the Gunners have a game in hand, meaning that the Cityzens still have some work to do if they want to ensure they successfully retain their Premier League crown. It's set to be a very busy week for City, who will be playing their second league fixture in just the span of three days before traveling to Germany to face RB Leipzig in Champions League action next week.

Meanwhile, upcoming opponents Nottingham Forest currently sit in 14th place. While the newly promoted side come into this contest off the back of a 2-0 loss to Fulham, Steve Cooper's team do have a slight buffer between themselves and the drop zone. They also are unbeaten at home in their last seven games, but that certainly will come under threat when City arrive on Saturday.

The reverse fixture saw the Cityzens cruise to a 6-0 win earlier this season, and to make matters worse, Nottingham are facing a major defensive crisis with several key players out injured. As such, given their poor record - which has seen them lose their last seven meetings with Manchester City - it seems that the focus for the hosts will be to try to contain their opponents for as long as possible. Whether that actually works remains to be seen, but if prior results are any precedent, it appears that Nottingham will be in for a long afternoon on Saturday.
