A recent argument between the Brazilian ace and the team's sporting director could be key to decide Neymar's fate with the team in the next few months.

What started out as a wish to turn things around for PSG could end up being one of the biggest flops in football history, as Neymar's time with the French side will reportedly come to an end this summer.

The Brazilian player has failed to meet the expectactions created around him when he arrived in 2017, and a heated exchange following the team's loss to Monaco last weekend has seemingly been enough for Les Parisiens' hierarchy, who will be accepting offers for the player's services.

According to L'Equipe, the player was quite frustrated after the game where PSG lost 3-1 to Monaco. That loss prompted a visit to the locker room by Luis Campos, the team's sporting director. Sources close to the club revealed that Campos harshly criticized the team's lack of intensity and lashed out against some of the team's youngsters, which was something Neymar was not prepared to tolerate.

The team's No. 10 stepped up to defend his teammates with the help of Marquinhos. The trio got into the exchange for several minutes and in their native language, ending in Campos' exit from the locker room. Now, the Portuguese exec seems determined to part ways with the Brazilian, but that may not be as easy as it sounds.

The Brazilian star saw his contract with the French side extended just last summer until the end of the 2026-27 season, and being one of the best-paid players in the team, it will be a mammoth task to find a team in the world that is willing to pay Neymar such a massive wage. Additionally, the footballer has given the team no reason to transfer him, as he has contributed to the team's season with 17 goals and sixteen assists across all comps.

With this latest argument, PSG execs feel that the team should focus on keeping Mbappé and Lionel Messi around, and if someone comes knocking on their door to inquire about Neymar's services, the team will reportedly be open to start negotiating for the most-expensive footballer in history...which turned out to be a bad investment in terms of titles for the French side.
