The North American competition will try to add more audience records like the ones accomplished in the 2022 final. Here are the main things to keep in mind ahead of the next campaign.

The 2022 season ended with the Portland Thorns claiming the NWSL title against the Kansas City Current, and the team from Oregon will enter the tournament as favorites to repeat the accomplishment.

Their title defense will begin next month, as the NWSL has established March 25 as the day when things will kickoff in one of the most popular leagues when it comes to women's football.

One of the major changes to the league's format will be the inclusion of the NWSL Challenge Cup during the season, rather than having it before the tournament started. The Cup will begin on April 19 simultaneously with the NWSL season, and the title match has been scheduled to be played on September 9.

Another major change for the 2023 NWSL season will be a lower number of midweek games. This has been considered as a measure to give the league more balance between fixtures and to maintain the footballers safe and healthy.

To keep up with how leagues are sorted out in the United States, the NWSL will also have its own Decision Day, which has been scheduled for October 15th to conclude the regular season. The NWSL playoffs will kick off one week later, and the title match has been scheduled for November.

All activity for the league, which includes regular season matches, Challenge Cup games, and the playoff stage will be aired across all CBS Sports platforms.
