Manchester City suffered another setback in their Premier League title defence following a disappointing defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening. The Citizens found themselves on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline at the Tottenham Stadium in another clash in which their attacking threat failed to yield substantial result.
With Arsenal falling to a 1-0 defeat at Everton on Sunday, City had the opportunity to reduce the point deficit between them and the league leaders to just two points with a win at Tottenham. However, the Premier League defending champions could not capitalize on the Gunners slip up. The defining moment came in the 15th minute after Rodri's misplaced pass set the host on course to breaking the deadlock through Harry Kane.
Although City probed right till the end, they were unable to complete a comeback, recording their fourth defeat of the season in the process - one more than they managed in last season's campaign. Relatively, the Etihad outfit have lost their fifth match in a row at Tottenham's new stadium. Surprisingly, they have not scored a single goal against Spurs during the period, a feat that was alien to Pep Guardiola until now.

While City struggled, their marksman Erling Haalnad also had a one off at Spurs. For the first time in the Norwegian striker's Premier League career, he failed to have a shot in a game. The 22-year-old also failed to have a single touch in the Tottenham box.
Meanwhile, Man City still remain five points behind Arsenal, with the Gunners having a game in hand. The Citizens will welcome Aston Villa to the Etihad in their next Premier League outing.
